Founder:
Allison Hutchison, Speech Language Pathologist, M.S., CCC-SLP
Allison Hutchison is a master’s-educated Speech-Language Pathologist who believes deeply in the power of communication, connection, and compassion. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Elmhurst College.
Allison has worked in outpatient pediatric clinics, school-based programs, and virtual settings, supporting children with complex medical and developmental needs. She is especially passionate about serving the neurodivergent community and believes every individual deserves a voice, regardless of communication style.
As a mother of a child with special needs, her work is deeply personal. Her lived experience navigating healthcare and education systems inspired the creation of Orchid & Ivy, a place where children, adults, and families can flourish through individualized care and meaningful connection.

Taylor Knight, Occupational Therapist, OTR/L
Taylor Knight is a master’s-educated Occupational Therapist whose career has been defined by a deep belief in the power of creativity, connection, understanding, and the promotion of each persons inherent abilities.
She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Mount Mary University.
Throughout her career, Taylor has primarily worked in school based programs, but also provided private practice and supported in skilled nursing homes. Taylor’s passion lies in supporting all individuals so they can achieve their highest potential. Her focus is on understanding the whole person and the goals they envision in order to create and support their journey.
Taylor’s vision is simple yet profound: to reimagine what inclusion looks like by creating a space where growth is nurtured, community is cultivated, and every person is seen for the unique beauty they bring to the world.
